Some Kind Words
“After taking nearly a decade away from dance classes, I returned eagerly this past year only to be sidelined by foot pain that I self-diagnosed as plantar fasciitis. Thanks to the brilliant and lightning speed diagnostic skills of Martha, I came to understand that I had significantly weakened ankle, calf and hip muscles that needed to be strengthened to relieve the pain and very importantly - to perform more confidently and successfully as a dancer and dance instructor.
Martha understands the complexities of the human body as well as the human mind, and did an excellent job creating an effective exercise plan for me, while keeping in mind what was realistic given my hectic schedule with young children. Her style is relaxed but effective - no unnecessary check ins or guilt if exercises weren’t done perfectly, just support, knowledge and the flexibility to adjust and course correct when needed.
Martha is an honest professional, and I feel the utmost confidence that all areas of muscle weakness that needed to be addressed were - I am so much stronger, in a relatively short period of time (4 months). I cannot wait to return to dance with my “new legs.”
Making an investment in Q4 PT (but really in myself) was beyond worth it. I would recommend Martha without hesitation and am thrilled to be able to support a local, woman-owned business. ”
“I cannot say enough positive things about Martha! She is creative in her approach. She constantly challenged me and progressed my exercises to strengthen my knee after I had meniscus surgery.
When I was nervous about doing an exercise, like a lunge, she told me to “trust the process”. I remembered this throughout my time, it was so encouraging. Never once did I feel like I wasn’t moving forward.
When I became overzealous to get back to my sport of tennis she drew a hard line and I appreciated the fact that she knew I wasn’t ready.
She is so intelligent. Regardless of what I asked her, she knew the answer and explained it to me in detail. I loved working with Martha, she is experienced and as a bonus fun to be around!
You will be lucky to have her as your physical therapist.”
“I came to see Martha due to an atrophied glute muscle, which in turn had caused me to tweak my back. I had exhausted all therapeutic benefit from my chiropractor, and was hoping that physical therapy might provide some additional relief from the pain.
What I didn’t expect is for my glute muscle to feel stronger and my back pain to dissipate. As someone who has always had exercise as a part of her life, it was difficult to put that on pause - I didn’t know if I would get that back but Martha said that my body would rebound, and I would get back to that level. Martha not only got me back into my exercise routine, but she got me back with the appropriate form (I never realized I was not using my glute!), and also got my confidence back in knowing what my body is capable of. I highly recommend Martha!”
“Rehabilitating my injury was only half of why my work with Martha was so valuable and irreplaceable. Martha had an in depth knowledge of my injury. She excelled in her ability to communicate, educate, motivate, and follow-through with me during my weeks of recovery. She supported the mental aspect of being injured and helped me recover safely from my injury while also helping me increase my running mileage safely to reach a previously set goal race.
I am incredibly grateful for her care and support and will continue to seek her out with all of my physical therapy needs.
Also, she rocks.”
“I had been dealing with a few hip issues that prevented me from training at full capacity. After working with Martha for a few months on corrective and mobility exercises, she has helped me return to training normally faster than I could have imagined.
Martha is extremely knowledgable, very devoted and a wonderful person to work with. There’s no other Physical Therapist in the world that I would trust more than Martha.”
